Preview of the ISO 20000-1:2018 Updates

Lt. Col. Jesus Gomez Ruedas (Ministry of Defense) and Diego Berea Cabaleiro (Ozona Consulting) have recently published the article “Third edition of ISO 20000-1 on the runway” in Computer World.

Changes in the new ISO 20000-1 compared to previous editions

That article describes the main changes in the new edition of ISO 20000-1. Many of them stem from the alignment of the standard with the high-level structure dictated by ISO’s Annex SL. This structure is common to all management system standards. The article also discusses other changes that arise from the natural evolution of the standard. It is important for it to remain current in order to better address new application scenarios. The new edition of ISO 20000 is currently in committee draft status and will be published in 2018.
