Main changes introduced in ISO 20000-1:2018
As Lynda Cooper explains in her presentation, the new edition of ISO 20000 is less prescriptive than previous versions. By focusing more on describing the requirements a management system should have than on how to meet them, the standard becomes more flexible.
As a result, many organizations of various sizes and with more or less access to certain resources can now successfully follow the guidelines of the standard. Besides, the new edition is also compatible with any framework (not just with ITIL).
